Where we play

Phila. Department of RecreationManager of city playgrounds and often the provider of free or low-cost youth sports programs; useful to get a permit for regular pickups)
 Youth Soccer (Check Dept. of Recreation above, too; personally, I don't recommend organized teams or regular competitive games for pre-teens)
Clark Park Youth SoccerFor 5- to 11-year-olds. I coach there once every couple of years. Kids as well as volunteer coaches/organizers are always sought after.

CASA Soccer LeagueA non-profit, outdoor, 11v11 league in the city. Gender-neutral. FIFA regulation play with unlimited substitutions and currently a ban on slide-tackling. (I'm currently on a team there.)
